Borough of Barnegat Light

Barnegat Light is situated on the northern tip of Long Beach Island. We are a quaint, family oriented seashore town. We have something to offer to everyone. The Barnegat Lighthouse State Park is a popular destination for climbing the lighthouse, picnicking and fishing. We offer beautiful spacious beaches, excellent surf fishing, bay fishing and crabbing. We offer several recreation areas, including tennis courts, a skate park, dog park and basketball court.

Beach Haven is located towards the southern end of LBI. While the beach is certainly the anchor of each town on LBI, Beach Haven is also known for its vast shopping villages and plethora of nightlife options. It is home to some of LBI’s many delicious restaurants as well. If you are looking for the more “hopping” part of LBI, Beach Haven is your place.

Located towards the northern end of LBI, Harvey Cedars is a wonderfully quaint town with attractive beaches and numerous options for summer stay accommodations, providing a quieter setting for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle. Be sure to visit Sunset Park for a beautiful sunset view and a weekly concert, or check out the many eateries in its downtown walking area.

Harvey Cedars is also home to a popular Christian retreat and conference center that attracts visitors and conference attendees throughout a good portion of the year.

Ship Bottom is known as the “Gateway To Long Beach Island” because of its convenient location at the foot of the only bridge onto the Island. A popular destination for day-trippers because of its ease of access, Ship Bottom also hosts numerous hotel and private rental accommodations for those looking to be centrally located amongst all LBI has to offer. Looking to launch a personal watercraft or boat? Be sure to make your way to the Ship Bottom boat ramp at 11th Street and the Bay for a day on the water. This same boat ramp also hosts evening concerts throughout the summer as well. Ship Bottom is also home to LBI’s annual Christmas Parade in early December.

Borough of Surf City

Another centrally located portion of LBI, Surf City is a highly popular destination for daytrippers and extended vacationers alike. Surf City’s “Boulevard” section of town boasts endless shopping and restaurants, making a stroll down the street sure to please! Its robust beaches make for a great day at the shore, topped off with a drink at a local pub, your favorite ice cream cone, or a relaxing conversation amongst friends at a local coffeehouse.

Surf City also hosts a great bay beach for the little ones looking to take a dip in a more low key environment. And for the bigger kids at heart, access to the bay via its marinas is a great option for those with watercraft in tow. For those looking to rent a place for an extended stay, Surf City is a viable option for those looking for the right balance of convenient access with a measure of privacy as well.
